The American University of Armenia (AUA) Center for Ethics in Public Affairs officially launches its participation in the FORSEE project on 6 May. The event introduces the AUA research team and outlines the center’s role in our European research initiative redefining what success means for artificial intelligence.
Under the leadership of Professor Maria Baghramian, the AUA center has secured a €600,000 Horizon Europe grant to join our consortium. A team of five researchers will lead FORSEE’s work on trustworthy AI in the age of large language models. They bring distinctive expertise in philosophy, political epistemology, and ethics to investigate the conditions required for AI systems to be genuinely trustworthy, focusing specifically on the impact of AI on the environment and healthcare.
During the launch event, attendees will learn about the project’s scope and the Center’s upcoming activities. Over the next two years, the Center will host international workshops, a summer school, and a major international conference. Practitioners and researchers are also invited to join a hybrid monthly reading and discussion group to debate the societal footprint of these technologies. AUA’s work will lead to FORSEE’s open-access, peer-reviewed publications.
